Remembering Errol Flynn, Centerary of actor Errol Flynn
Errol Flynn was a classic movie star of the 1930s and 40s. Born in Hobart, Australia in 1909 he became the first Aussie movie star and one of the most famous actors of his time. He became known thanks to films like The adventures of Robin Hood, The Sea Hawk or Captain Blood. He’s the classical swashbuckler. Flynn became quite notorious for his behaviour off the screen, he was a known womaniser and this got him a lot of bad press and PR, he married 4 times and had countless affairs. His life outside acting is quite interesting too since he travelled around the world and held multiple jobs such as plantation supervisor in New Guinea and as a war correspondant in Spain in 1937. Some say he was also into men although this hasn’t been proven. Alcohol and drug abuse led to his early physical and health decline which also damaged his career as well. By the time he was 50 he was dating a 19 year old girl. He died shortly afterward in Vancouver of a heart attack in 1959. He would have been 100 last month.
